I'll Figure It Out

· Courage,Perspective,Taking Action

How often do you find yourself saying “I don’t know” and its many variations:

  • “I don’t know how to __________.”
  • “I don’t understand how __________ works.”
  • “I’m clueless about __________.”
  • “I’ve never done __________ before, so I can’t __________.”
  • “I’ve no idea how to __________.”
  • “__________ usually does this for me, so I’ve no idea how to __________.”

Many times, it’s something small, like working the remote control or something to do with the computer…but other times, they're huge like a new process at work or a new habit that can make you healthier or something that involves a new skill that could make you better at what you do.

Within these many occasions of “I can’t” may be opportunities that we’re letting slip by. They might have been great opportunities that could’ve led to something bigger, something that could potentially turn our life around. But we’ll never know because we never gave it a chance. Because we simply said “I can’t” and left it at that.

Everything great, everything you see around you, every brilliant idea, every successful business, every great cause began with someone who didn’t know what to do, who wasn’t aware of all the how’s, who didn’t know the complete step-by-step process.

They didn’t know either.

But what made them different was what they said next, “I’ll figure it out.”

And they did. Over and over and over again until every single “I can’t” turned into “I can.”

Saying “I can’t” or “I don’t know” needs another word at the end: “yet.”

“I don’t know how to do this yet.”

“I have no idea how this works yet.”

“I’ve never done that yet.”

“I can’t fix that yet.”

Get in the habit and mindset of “I’ll figure it out” and do it. You’ll be amazed at how far your mind can expand when you immerse yourself in learning new skills. How your confidence grows alongside it and the many opportunities that start showing up on your doorstep all because you believed you could and did.

You have no idea how magnificent you are…yet.
